A floor lamp with conical shade comprising a disk-shaped base with a single stem protruding upwardly, an inverted cone at the bottom of said stem, and a substantially 3/4 spherical mounting for a lightbulb at the top. The switch is located on top of the lightbulb mounting. It is perpendicular to the stem, and extends substantially beyond the widest part of the sperical mounting. A small ball is on the tip of the switch. Substantially 5/8 of the way up, a small decorative disk with rounded edges is located on the stem. The lightbulb is covered with a conical shade made of aluminum-like opaque material, and on top of which a small sphere is mounted.
