Ink-jet head having passage unit and actuator units attached to the passage unit, and ink-jet printer having the ink-jet head

An inkjet being rectangular in shape and having, in a longitudinal direction, a length corresponding to the width of a sheet, comprising:na nozzle plate on which nozzle groups each including a plurality of nozzles are provided in a staggered manner;a passage unit including pressure chambers for storing ink ejected from the nozzles;a signal output circuit configured to output an electric signal for ejecting the ink from the nozzles;a pressure applying element configured to apply an ejection pressure to the ink stored in the pressure chambers, based on the electric signal from the signal output circuit;a flexible printed board electrically connecting the signal output circuit with the pressure applying element; andan ink storage unit storing the ink supplied to the passage unit,the flexible printed board having a parallel portion which is connected to the pressure applying element and is in parallel to the nozzle plate and an orthogonal portion which includes a first region and a second region, the first region being connected to the signal output circuit and being orthogonal to the nozzle plate, the second region connecting the first region and the parallel portion,the ink storage unit being disposed in a space surrounded by the parallel portion and the second region of the orthogonal portion, andat least a part of the ink storage unit and the parallel portion of the flexible printed board being lined up along a direction orthogonal to the nozzle plate.
